Billy Ray Sanders
1929 ~ 2001
Wednesday, November 6, 2002
It was one year ago tonight when Uncle Billy took God's hand and quietly stepped into Eternity. The above photo was taken in Sinton, Texas in 1954. That was the year Uncle Billy married my Mom's sister, Carole. The good looking couple on the right are Aunt Carole and Uncle Billy; my parents are on the left; and I am the short one in the group.

Gentle Autumn's Rain
Do not stand at my grave and weep ...
I am not there, I do not sleep ...
I am a thousand winds that blow ...
I am the diamond glint on snow ...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain ...
I am the gentle autumn rain ...
When you wake in the morning hush ...
I am the swift, uplifting rush ...
Of quiet birds in circling flight ...
I am the soft starlight at night ...
I am the song that will never end ...
I am the love of family and friend ...
I am the child who has come to rest ...
In the arms of the Father ... who knows him best ...
When you see the sunset fair ...
I am the scented evening air ...
I am the joy of a task well done ...
I am the glow of the setting sun ...
Do not stand at my grave and cry ...
I am not there, I did not die ...
Original verse by Mary Frye (1932)
Additional verse by Wilbur Skeels (1996)
